Concert season

The LivingSocial application of “Pick your 5…” has been popular on Facebook lately. In looking at the five favorite bands that you’ve seen, it was tough for me to get to only 5. My father took me to concerts from an early age. My best friend Brendon and I went to lots of shows from the end of HS through college and still try to grab a show together almost every year. Together, we went to Woodstock ‘94, 3 Lollapaloozas, 2 Warped Tours and a bunch more.
I’ve saved most of my concert tickets and put together a spreadsheet of the shows (here’s a link to a Google Docs spreadsheet, note that some companies block access to this free online service):

So, after reviewing everything - my top 5 bands in concert:
- The Mighty Mighty Bosstones (I’ve seen them 11 times)
- Pink Floyd (Great light show and just awesome music)
- Pearl Jam (Saw them before Ten really broke big - tremendous energy)
- Brian Setzer Orchestra (helps that it was only 200 people for a corporate event where my wife and I could dance - I love horns)
- Green Day (very short set at Woodstock ‘94, then saw them on American Idiot tour)
Honorable Mention to The Pietasters and Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave.
I’ve got 3 shows scheduled for this year - Franz Ferdinand (w/ my sister), No Doubt and Billy Joel/Elton John with my wife.

My most popular blog post last year was music related: http://nohype.tumblr.com/post/47383813/album-per-year (is it because of keywords or because music is generally more popular than social media or other technologies?)
